Whether you’re new to the city or you’re a long-time resident, you’ve probably heard of the First Monday Trade Day. So go ahead—get ready for a fun visit. Here’s all you need to know about all the upcoming First Mondays in Scottsboro 2020.
What is the First Monday Trade Day?
The First Monday Trade Day is even better than the name suggests! It lasts three whole days, starting on the last Saturday of one month and ending on the first Monday of the very next month. Locals and visitors alike have gone to check out the goods up for trade since 1902. Back then, though, you could find horses! In fact, it was even known as “Horse Swap Day!” 118 years later, the theme is a bit different.
The spirit of the day still remains intact, though! Attendees can trade goods with in-town creators, vendors, cooks and more. Though you probably won’t find a horse up for swap there, you can pick out your favorites from a wide array of choices like plants, handmade goods, antiques, and more up for barter.
The First Monday Trade Day is open to all. It takes place in Downtown Scottsboro at the Square.
