It’s almost time once again for mouth-watering, award-winning Southern staples at the Scottsboro BBQ Festival 2021 happening Saturday, October 9th! Tell your friends and family to come hungry and ready for good old-fashioned festival fun!
The 6th Annual Scottsboro BBQ Festival 2021 will be held on the Downtown Square from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Originally, the barbecue festival was meant to draw a few out-of-town visitors while giving local families something to enjoy.
Today, the event has grown to include several award categories and is a sanctioned Alabama Barbecue Association event. Besides the Grand Champion, other awards include Best Backyard Chicken, Best Backyard Ribs, Judges Choice, People’s Choice, Jr. Grill Master and Best Decorated Table.
More than BBQ
From grilling to getting saucy, there is more than tasty barbecue at the Scottsboro BBQ Festival 2021.
Parents, a must-do is the free Kids Fun Zone! Let them work up an appetite or burn calories with bounce houses, other inflatables, games, face painting and more. Find the Fun Zone on the northwest corner of the courthouse lawn.
Additionally, there will be a costume contest, pumpkin carving and painting contest, a cornhole tournament and the “Barq-Off” Dog Parade. Don’t forget to bring your wallet! There will also be tons of food vendors and arts and craft vendors.
If all the excitement has you working up a thirst, stop the Beer and Wine Garden. Finally, embrace the spirit of giving a little early and support local charities with the Witches Ride!
It’s a fun, crazy bike ride through the Downtown Square. Participants dress up as witches and ride their “brooms” throwing candy to all the “little monsters” along the way. Click here to find out how to register as a witch.
